How difficult can it be to shed weight and lose a fat tummy or trim those thighs, surely not that difficult? As most of us have proven it is not difficult and we have all registered success in the past. The Difficult Part is keeping it off.
So is there some magic secret that we need to know before we begin to lose weight, lose that fat tummy and trim our thighs. There is no magic secret but there are three words above all that will decide whether your weight loss remains permanent and those words Dedication, Commitment and Discipline
You can know all about the best foods and drinks, have access to the best training facilities and be in possession of the greatest weight loss programs available, but it takes dedication, commitment and above all discipline to make them work.
There are great programs available and later I will introduce you to a top rated program, but success comes from regularly following your regime, there is no other way.
OK let us make a start and consider that you only need to achieve the following two things:
Control your intake
Burn off excess calories.
Simple in theory but there is more to it in practice. Look at the first issue of our food and drink. Forget those burgers and greasy fries, yuk, that is seriously bad food, and do not think they should be a reward after a hard exercise session. You have worked hard to burn calories only to consume a ton more, what a waste and just consider the effect this has on your heart and overall body. It’s imperative to adopt healthy eating habits if you actually expect to lose a fat tummy and gain a healthy body.
Keep away from fried foods especially deep-fried as this contains a great amount of fat and although fish and chicken appear leaner than beef, this white meat can contain more fat than when a beef if it is fried. A healthier option is grilled food I also think it tastes nicer, but that is just a personal choice.
Eat more foods rich in fibres this will fill you more quickly the food stays in the tummy longer, and this has the effect of slowing down the rate of digestion.
Taking on board lots of fluid is as important as the food you consume, try to drink at least six to eight glasses of water a day to keep the body refreshed. How much you drink will depend on your bulk but if you feel thirsty your body is telling you to drink.
Since weight loss depends on how the body eliminates body wastes, the body must stay hydrated. Try a glass of warm water with just a squeeze of lemon juice before breakfast to kick start your metabolism this drink has been claimed to help prevent constipation and is excellent for the skin.
Next you must exercise and you will need a mix of exercises for toning you up and cardio exercises for burning off those calories. If you are a gym person you have a choice of treadmills, stationary bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines. All will get your heart rate up and help you lose tummy fat. Your toning exercises such as crunches, knee raises and sit-ups will strengthen and tone you stomach muscles. But remember, if you don’t lose tummy fat first, no one’s going to be able to see that six-pack you’ve worked so hard for.
Outside of the gym walking is a great way of getting fit as is dancing, swimming, DIY, a brisk session of house work and an afternoon turning over the garden, so if the gym is not to your liking you can still take part in an exercise program, it is important that you keep on the move. There is nothing wrong with eating potatoes but don’t become a couch potato.
To sum up combining dedication, commitment and discipline is the key to successful weight loss. Light dieting, regular workouts, and the right amount of supplementation applied in a regular way every day will result in faster weight loss than a few weeks of intense application only to return to old habits, do this and you would see how swiftly your weight loss would be quickly negated and the pounds pile back on, probably gaining more weight than when the weight loss plan has started.
So put an end to the stop, start syndrome, eat and drink sensibly, exercise regularly and try to lead a balanced life, but don’t lose sight of the fact that life is to be enjoyed and keep a smile on your face.
